Since the 1960s, and alongside the nearby and most popular Capri, the Amalfi coast has evolved into one of Italy’s top tourist destinations but also a favorite place for both jet setters and couples looking for romance. Fortunately, because of the geomorphology of the area, tourist development was at a slow pace.

Therefore, it is still an earthly paradise that combines tranquility with cosmopolitan reputation: you will find quiet fishing villages next to cosmopolitan towns and secluded beaches next to lively and organized beaches.

In Sorrento, where Kazanova and Goethe were taking part, you will be impressed with the old villas on the hill slopes overlooking the emerald waters, Mediterranean gardens with olives and citrus, the lively cosmopolitan harbor where they breed expensive vessels and life in Coffee of Piazza Tasso, which was loved by both Nietzsche and Ipsen.

Positano is the most expensive and scenic area, a city with countless stairs and narrow streets, a settlement-terrace in the endless blue. Amalfi is the most popular proposal for a day trip from there and Ravello stands high up on the hill as if to watch what’s happening … Even Salerno, however, which plays the role of the transport hub, has a beautiful Old Town With narrow alleys.

Beautiful beaches, imposing green mountains and unique ecosystems “endow” the land of Skopelos with impressive landscapes that, combined with the mild climate, make the island an ideal holiday destination.

With thick forests covering almost 80% of its area, it is considered to be the greenest island of the Aegean, with good tourist infrastructure, but also with its traditional character. It is located in the Northern Sporades, northwest Aegean, north of Evia and east of Pelion.

The town of Skopelos, on the north side of the island, is a traditional island town with typical architecture and beautiful cobblestone streets, which has been declared a traditional settlement. Chora and the whole island are full of old traditional churches, chapels and monasteries. Climb to Panagitsa of Pyrgos, at the edge of the harbor in the castle and admire the wonderful churches, the picturesque streets, the steep cliffs and the view of the vast Aegean Sea.

Glossa is one of the three villages on the island, with the largest population, also known as the “tall village”. It is built amphitheatrically on a hill with houses of Macedonian architecture and magnificent sea views. It is of great archaeological interest since in many places there are ancient towers and buildings from antiquity.

Finally, the picturesque Agnontas in the south of the island, Panormos, Stafylos and Loutraki, the second largest port of Skopelos, with great tourist development, are the most crowded resorts on the island.

With 750 years of history and rich cultural life, Stockholm offers a huge variety of museums and sightseeing. Most of city’s sightseeing can be visited by foot.

1. Gamla Stan (The Old Town)

The town dates to the 13th century, and consists of medieval alleyways, cobbled streets, and archaic architecture. North German architecture has had a strong influence in the Old Town’s construction. Stortorget is the name of the scenic large square in the center of Gamla Stan, which is surrounded by old merchants’ houses including the Stockholm Stock Exchange Building.

As well as being home to the Stockholm Cathedral, the Nobel Museum, and the Riddarholm church, Gamla stan also boasts Kungliga slottet, Sweden’s baroque Royal Palace, built in the 18th century after the previous palace Tre Kronor burned down.

The restaurant Den gyldene freden is located on Österlånggatan. It has been in business since 1722 and according to Guinness Book of Records is the oldest existing restaurant with an unaltered interior.

2. Royal Palace

Stockholm Palace or The Royal Palace is the official residence and major royal palace of the Swedish monarch (the actual residence of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia is at Drottningholm Palace). Stockholm Palace is located on Stadsholmen, in Gamla Stan in the capital, Stockholm. The Palace has 600 rooms, 5 museums including the royal arsenal museum with royal costumes and armor. Don’t miss the change of the guards that takes place every morning.

3. Vasa Museum

The Vasa Museum is a maritime museum in Stockholm, Sweden. Located on the island of Djurgården, the museum displays the only almost fully intact 17th century ship that has ever been salvaged, the 64-gun warship Vasa that sank on her maiden voyage in 1628. The Vasa Museum opened in 1990 and, according to the official web site, is the most visited museum in Scandinavia.

4. Skansen Open – Air Museum

Skansen is the first open-air museum and zoo in Sweden and is located on the island Djurgården in Stockholm. It was opened on 11 October 1891 by Artur Hazelius to show the way of life in the different parts of Sweden before the industrial era.

5. Fotografiska

Fotografiska (The Swedish Museum of Photography) is a center for contemporary photography in the Södermalm district of Stockholm that opened on 21 May 2010. The museum hosts 4 large exhibitions and 20 smaller.

6. The City Hall

Stockholm City Hall is the building of the Municipal Council for the City of Stockholm. It stands on the eastern tip of Kungsholmen island, next to Riddarfjärden’s northern shore and facing the islands of Riddarholmen and Södermalm. It houses offices and conference rooms as well as ceremonial halls, and the luxury restaurant Stadshuskällaren. It is the venue of the Nobel Prize banquet and is one of Stockholm’s major tourist attractions.

The City Hall, owns the characteristic bell tower with the three gold crowns, which is one of the most famous buildings in Stockholm. It is built from eight million bricks and has a tower that reaches the 106 meters. The City Hall is open to the public. You can also climb inside the tower and enjoy a fantastic view over the city.

7. Moderna Museet

Moderna Museet (“the Museum of Modern Art”), is a state museum for modern and contemporary art located on the island of Skeppsholmen in central Stockholm, opened in 1958. It hosts a huge collection with paintings of Picasso, Dali, Matisse and other great painters.

8. Nationalmuseum

Nationalmuseum (or National Museum of Fine Arts) is the national gallery of Sweden, located on the peninsula Blasieholmen in central Stockholm. The museum was founded in 1792 as Kungliga Museet (“Royal Museum”), but the present building was opened in 1866, when it was renamed the Nationalmuseum.

The museum is home to about half a million drawings from the Middle Ages to 1900, prominent Rembrandt and Dutch 17th-century collection, and a collection of porcelain items, paintings, sculptures, and modern art as well. The museum also has an art library, open to the public and academics alike.

9. Royal National City Park

The first national park in the world. The park is forming an arc more than six miles long, stretching around and through the city.

In the park, you can meet many animals, such as deer and hares, foxes and even moose, rare birds, butterflies and insects. There is an abundance of things to see: museums, an amusement park, theaters, castles, hotels, sports facilities, numerous residences from different historical periods, hills with centuries-old trees, oak, ponds, streams, marshes and canals, meadows with grazing cows, horses and sheep, secluded spots for swimming, rocky hills and areas with wild nature that you won’t believe. And all these, in the middle of a big city!

10. Boat Ride

The exploration of Stockholm from water is an enjoyable experience. Fortunately, there are many tours to choose from depending on your interests (Under the bridges of Stockholm, the Royal Canal tour, Historical Canal Tour and early Good Morning Stockholm Tour). All focus on central Stockholm and last from 50 minutes to 2 ½ hours.

The Roman bridge of Córdoba is a bridge in the Historic centre of Córdoba, Andalusia, southern Spain, originally built in the early 1st century BC across the Guadalquivir river, though it has been reconstructed at various times since.For me this is one of the most amazing mental postcards that you will keep while visiting Cordoba.

3. Mezquita Catedral de Cordoba

The Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba is the most important monument of all the Western Islamic world, and one of the most amazing in the world. The evolution of the “Omeya” style in Spain is resumed in the history of the Mosque of Cordoba, as well as other styles such as the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque of the Christian architecture. It’s important to check the time you want to visit and go 30 minutes in advance, because normally they are sold out.

4. Alcazar de los reyes cristinanos

The Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos (Spanish for “Castle of the Christian Monarchs”), also known as the Alcázar of Córdoba, is a medieval Alcázar located in the historic centre of Córdoba, Spain, next to the Guadalquivir River and near the Grand Mosque. This is one of the most incredible places you will visit in Cordoba, the beauty of the big gardens, the architecture of the buildings takes you to amazing places only to look all the beautiful view, take a note if you go before 8:45 AM you have free entrance.

5. Flower Street in Cordoba

Calleja de las Flores, or the Little Street of Flowers, is a street that no Cordoba visitor will want to miss, making it one of the top attractions in this Spanish city. More of an alleyway than a street actually, but in General Cordoba’s streets are so colourful and full of charming, that you will find more than 1 street where you will fall in love.

6. I Heart Salmorejo

This is one of the most delicious dishes you will taste in your life!! (honestly). Salmorejo is a purée consisting of tomato and bread, originating from Cordoba in Andalucia, south Spain. It is made from tomatoes, bread, oil, garlic.The purée is served cold and may be garnished with diced Spanish serrano ham and diced hard-boiled eggs. You will try “differents” Salmorejos,depending on the restaurant or bar you choose, but beleive me ALWAYS is amazing!

7. Plaza de las Tendillas

The best you can do is to stay 2- 3 days in Cordoba, because the environment, the people and the city feeling is amazing everyday. One of the places that I really recommend to enjoy a nice coffee is: La Plaza de las Tendillas, one of the Central Squares of the city. Around you can find stores, restaurants and a considerable number of streets that you can explore.
